From Behind the Lens to Behind the Camera
Photography has always been about more than just taking pictures for me. It’s about capturing moments that can’t be put into words—the feelings, the connections, the stories behind every smile and glance. For me, photography started as a spark long before I ever held a professional camera.
In my younger years, I modeled. I was on the other side of the lens, learning how emotion, movement, and light come together to tell a story. But I didn’t realize then that I was quietly falling in love with the art behind the lens—the pause, the framing, the feeling frozen in time.
When I became a mom, everything changed. Suddenly, every messy, beautiful, in-between moment with my two daughters felt so meaningful—and like it was passing faster than I could hold onto. I picked up my camera not just to take pictures, but to capture what I didn’t want to lose. That’s when photography stopped being a hobby and became part of who I am.
As a full-time working mom, life is busy, loud, and always moving. But photography is where I find stillness. It’s how I connect—with people, with emotion, and with the little moments that matter most.
Whether I’m photographing a couple celebrating an engagement, a bride and groom on their wedding day, a senior stepping into a brand-new chapter, or a couple choosing a simple courthouse elopement, I’m always looking for the same thing: the story underneath the picture.
That might mean photographing a wedding in Dallas, Texas, an intimate elopement at a courthouse in the DFW area, an engagement session in Rockwall, Texas, or a senior session somewhere completely unexpected. It might mean chasing golden light through a field, wandering around an urban Dallas location, or traveling somewhere new because a couple has a vision they want to bring to life.
I’m based in Texas, and the Dallas–Fort Worth area is home for me and for Framing Fate Photography. I photograph throughout DFW, including Rockwall, Dallas, Fate, and surrounding North Texas communities.
But I’m also a photographer who travels.
Minnesota has become an important part of my life because my boyfriend lives there, which means I’m regularly traveling between Texas and Minnesota. So while I’m a Texas photographer at heart, I also take on weddings, engagements, seniors, elopements, and lifestyle sessions in Minneapolis and throughout Minnesota when I’m there. It’s a pretty great excuse to keep my camera packed.
I especially love the moments that don’t fit perfectly into a traditional photography box.
A courthouse wedding can be just as meaningful as a full-day wedding. An engagement session doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s. Senior pictures don’t have to feel like traditional senior pictures. And an elopement doesn’t have to mean running away somewhere nobody knows about—it can simply mean choosing an experience that feels more like you.
That’s the kind of photography I want to create.
I started Framing Fate Photography with one goal: to create honest, heartfelt images that let people relive the moments they never want to forget. I want my clients to have photographs that feel like them—not overly posed, overly perfect, or disconnected from the experience they were actually having.
I’ll give you direction when you need it. I’ll help you figure out what to do with your hands. I’ll probably tell you to move, walk, dance, laugh, look at each other, or do something that feels a little ridiculous.
And then I’ll photograph what happens in between.
Because those are often my favorite photographs.
The nervous laugh before the first kiss. The way someone looks at their person when they think nobody is watching. The dress blowing in the wind. The happy tears. The crooked smile. The unexpected moment that wasn't on the shot list.
Those are the photographs that bring you back.
Whether you're planning a wedding in Dallas, an elopement in the middle of nowhere in Texas, a courthouse ceremony in the DFW area, an engagement session in Rockwall, senior pictures in North Texas, or you're looking for a photographer in Minneapolis or elsewhere in Minnesota, I want your experience to feel less like a photoshoot and more like a memory you're actually living.
That's what Framing Fate means to me.
Because sometimes the most important moments aren't the ones we planned.
They're the ones we decided to remember.
